My friends and I’ve started a tradition of making dinner on Friday nights – well, we’re two weeks in, we’ll see how long it lasts. But each of us goes around making the main dish and the others will either make side dishes or buy wine.
This week was my turn and I decided to make one of my favorite foods – especially since I’ve been pretty homesick lately. Bulgogi – or Korean BBQ – was the main dish tonight. I’m not much of a red-meat eater, but Bulgogi is in a class of its own, I think.
It’s a nice night of just enjoying each others’ company and eating food that doesn’t come from one of Duke’s eateries. Don’t get me wrong, Duke has a pretty good variety of food… it’s just that even variety gets old after 3.5 years.
Family dinners are a very welcome new tradition.
