I realized I never posted during my break, and I should relive those moments – because it really was a great break.
I was in Malibu for the beginning of it, at a retreat for MKs (missionary kids, like myself). The weather was actually pretty dreadful, and it basically looked like this for the first couple days:
However, we were blessed with some great weather in the last day and a half or so. The sun came out and we could finally see the ocean. It also made it about 10 degrees warmer, which was nice. I really didn’t expect to be wearing long sleeves and fleeces out here in California. But oh well.
After the retreat ended, the leaders of the retreat sent everyone home, cleaned up, and then proceeded to go down to the shore. It was still a little chilly, and we were on a rocky part of the beach. But I absolutely loved it. I have a thing with oceans.
Afterwards we headed back down to LA, and before I knew it, it was Christmas! We had a Christmas party at the house and had a ton of food, and of course cupcakes were necessary. Individually decorated ones at that.
The problem was that we made far too many cupcakes that we never seemed to run out of cupcakes. Days later, we still had cupcakes. And as much as we love cupcakes… we don’t love them that much. But extraneous cupcakes aside, we had a lot of fun.
I got to go to the beach again (remember my obsession with oceans?). I even got to (re)take the silhouette picture, though this time it was in Venice Beach, and not Seal Beach.
Well, that’s about it for now. Internet connection at cafes, while free, don’t tend to be very quick. More to come!
